Millet Jade Princess

Full sun to partial shade.  24 to 30 inches tall.  More compact than Jester or Purple Majesty, Jade Princess is suitable for use in containers as well as in the landscape.  Chartreuse leaves (the more sun they get the darker the foliage will become) are topped by sturdy, pollenless plumes.

Full sun to part shade.  42 inches. Tall upright plant with long chartreuse leaves that  mature burgundy. 9 to 12″ seed heads appear in midsummer and mature to a purple color.  Use in the border or in large containers.  The best color will be achieved when Jester is planted in full sun.

Full sun to partial shade. 12 inches.  Red Emperor requires moist to pond side conditions. The beautiful flower form and luscious color makes this plant so worthwhile to grow in containers or in moist soils.

Monkey Flower Aurantiacus grandifloraMonkey Flower Aurantiacus grandiflora flower detailSun. 1 to 4 feet.  California native wildflower Aurantiacus bears flowers resembling azalea blossoms, the trumpet-shaped flowers vary in color from creamy buff to pale yellow with a peachy undertone. Well drained soil is a must for this plant.  If you wish to overwinter this plant indoors, it would be best to grow this as a container plant and bring it indoors for the late fall to late spring as it is only cold tolerant to 15 degrees.  Its stems should be pruned back to keep the plant compact and leafy.

Nasturtium Alaska Mix

Full sun.  14 to 16 inches. Habit: mounded. The Alaska series features a pronounced green and cream colored variegated foliage and a wide mix of flower colors.  The plant is edible. Use it to spice up your salads with the peppery taste of the flowers and  leaves.  Avoid adding too much nitrogen fertilizer to your planting as this will reduce flower bud production and encourage soft foliage growth.  Grow in moist but well drained soil.
