Sun. To 28 inches tall.  Due to a seed shortage of salvia Gruppenblau we are growing Blue Bedder for this season.  Blue Bedder is as tall and more blue than Gruppenblau. We think it will provide the same garden performance as Gruppenblau.

Frequently mistaken for lavender by people who are unfamiliar with this plant. Salvia Gruppenblau dries easily. Prefers fertile well drained soil. A versatile plant Gruppenblau can be used in the border, as a container plant and as a cut flower.

Salvia Longispicata x farinacea Big Blue

Sun. Height 24 to 36 inches, spread 18 to 20 inches. Salvia lovers this is a stand out plant. Tall, strong flower spikes that just get better as the season progresses.  The ovate foliage of Big Blue is a huge improvement over other farinacea varieties. Though it doesn’t begin to flower for us until late spring once it starts it just doesn’t know when to quit.  By the end of summer this planting was amazing!  This early/mid season photo does not do it justice.

Full sun.  5 feet tall and wide. Flowers are borne on spikes from which gentian blue blossoms with long white stamens emerge from lime green calyces. The huge, soft, heartshaped leaves of this plant make a show all by themselves. sun to part shade. Prefers moist well drained soils.
