Full sun. This delectable Romano bean requires trellising or use of the ‘teepee’ method of support but it is well worth the extra effort. Northeaster produces 7 to 10 inches long, wide flat beans. Plants produce an abundant flush of beans in mid summer then after a brief rest put out a second flush that last until frost. This bean cooks quickly and is sweet and tender. It is one of the most looked-forward-to veggies of our garden. With a quick blanch and a pat dry it freezes well too.
